Let me explain why this page is called "United." It brings together content that we both (KT & JT) share because we belong to the same family, go to the same school, and even have a few hobbies in common. We care about each other, eventhough we have frequent disagreements. That's why we each have our own separate web pages where we can express our creativity and independence without mixing things up too much. This way, we can share what makes us unique!

About "Tanna"

"Tanna" is a name that comes from the Kwamera language and means 'earth.' The name has a long history and can be traced back to ancient languages like Proto-Oceanic and Proto-Malayo-Polynesian. In India, Tanna is also used as a last name. It probably comes from Hindi or Gujarati and refers to the 'weft' in weaving. People with this last name are often connected to the cloth trade.

Our Family

We're from Maharashtra and live in Pune, but our hometown is Amravati. In our family, our dad is a software engineer working for an IT company, and our mom used to teach in school. After the pandemic, she began her own business called Aashita Academy, allowing her to balance family commitments, especially for us. She teaches math, which is why it's our favorite subject!

Our grandpa is a retired bank manager who now enjoys gardening, while our grandma loves cooking a variety of delicious dishes for us!

Our Travels

We've been really lucky to explore a bunch of different places at a young age. We lived in Australia for about a year, then in Europe for two years, and we also spent a year in the UK and a year in Scotland. Now, we're back in India! The downside is that we were pretty young for most of the traveling, so we don't remember everything. But we still have a few good memories!

Since being back in India, we've traveled to states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, and a few more we learned about in our school maps!

Our Schools

School is a place where everyone goes to learn, and we've been lucky enough to go to different schools in different countries because we traveled a lot with our family. This allowed us to make many friends and explore new places early on.

Our first school was Victorious Kids Educares in Pune, India, until 2017. Then we moved to London, where we attended Roxbourne Primary School from 2018-2019. In Edinburgh, Scotland, our school was Bruntsfield Primary School.

When the pandemic hit, we had just returned from Scotland, so our mom homeschooled us from 2021-2022. Now, since 2022, we're studying at City International School Wanowrie.

There are pros and cons to all this traveling. The good part is that we got to experience different parts of the world, environments, and styles of learning. The downside is that we learned Hindi and Marathi later than most. But our mom helped us catch up during homeschooling, and we're still working on it.

Our Activites

Here's what we love doing together both KT and JT. Reading is our favorite shared activity!

We both enjoy diving into books, and this love for reading started during our travels in Europe. I miss the big libraries there—they were so easy to find in every area. Thanks to Harrow (London) and Edinburgh (Scotland) councils, we had access to amazing books.

Our parents make sure we have plenty of books to read, including a backlog to keep us busy. They also reward us with money for each book we read, which we save in our piggy bank. This way, we can save up and buy things we want!

“If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.”
